CSA 2025 Letter from the Director
Dear Camp St Andrew’s Community,
What a wonderful year of camp it has been! This summer’s theme, Once Upon a Time in the West, gave us the chance to revisit so many beloved themes of years past, reminding us why CSA has always been so special. Together, we created new adventures and new friendships, learned new skills, and rose to new challenges. The week was filled with laughter, stories, singing, adventure, and plenty of silliness. All of the things that make camp such a unique and wonderful place.
I want to take a moment to share my deepest gratitude. To our campers, thank you for trying something new, for making new friends, and for bringing your incredible spirit and energy to camp. To our LTs, your endless support and enthusiasm are inspiring. You are the future leaders of camp, and I am so grateful for your dedication. To our counseling staff, who are truly the backbone of everything we do, thank you for your commitment, care, and heart. To our program staff, I appreciate the creative, fun, and memorable activities you organize that make each day so special. And to our directors, whose work continues year-round to make camp possible, thank you for your leadership and vision.
As we celebrate this year, we also look ahead to the future. Each fall, we hold our annual Community Leadership Council (CLC) elections to help guide the next year of camp. Our first election will be held this Saturday, October 11th, at 10 am. The community is welcome to join via Zoom: https://zoom.us/j/93201178523.
Your 2026 nominees are:
-
- Camp Director, Sara-Catherine Paoli
- Medical Director, Zoe Hammer
- Scarf Director, Denora Smith
- Registrar, Ana Flores-Siemsen
- Member-at-Large (three-year term), Brig Summers
Following this Saturday’s election, members of the community will have the opportunity to self-nominate for Camp Director appointed positions: Assistant Camp Director, Operations Director, Spirit Director, Program Director, Archery Director, and Bookkeeper. If you are interested in a director-appointed position, we will send out an announcement including where to submit your self-nomination.
We’re also pleased to share some proposed updates to our camp charter. Our Tribunal will now include our Scarf Director in place of the Chaplain, and we’ve added a new voting position: the Assistant Registrar of Marketing. These changes are intended to strengthen our leadership structure and support the continued growth of our camp community. The charter will be officially updated at our October Leadership Committee meeting this Saturday, assuming no objections are presented. Should you have any questions, comments, or objections, please join us via Zoom at this Saturday’s election meeting.
Included with this letter is a tentative calendar of events and meetings for 2025–2026, and we warmly invite and encourage everyone in our community to attend and participate.
Once again, thank you for a truly wonderful year of camp. CSA would not be what it is without all of you, our campers, leaders, staff, and community members. We look forward to many more years of adventure together, and we can’t wait to see you again when registration for next summer opens in January 2026!
With love and gratitude,
Sara-Catherine Paoli (SCEP)
